Jonathan and I are celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary today. In some ways we can’t believe it has gone so fast. In other ways we can’t remember when we weren’t together. So much can happen in ten years and I thought it would be fun to write a glimpse of what that looks like.
In ten years we have….
worked for 18 different employers,
owned 10 vehicles,
moved 10 times,
been to 3 marriage retreats,
lived in 3 different states,
and had 3 beautiful children.
Our hope and dream for this tenth year, God willing, is to purchase a house of our own.
We weren’t able to take a weekend away on this exact date, but we were able to get out and grab some dinner by ourselves. I arranged for a babysitter and Jonathan took care of the rest. He got his car all cleaned and while he was out picked up some flowers. It was not the usual flowers in a vase like I was expecting, it was a wrist corsage. He is really getting good at making me feel special. Then we drove into Minneapolis and stopped downtown and we had a valet park our car. From there we went to Zelo, an italian restaurant Jonathan had picked himself for our special evening. It was very nice. Not so fancy that we wouldn’t know what we were eating, but nice enough to dress up for and get quality service. We had a great time.
Happy Anniversary, Jonathan.
It is such a blessing to have you as my husband AND best friend. I’m looking forward to growing old with you.
I love you!
