In my last blog post I wrote about my bread, and I was wishing I had a gadget to help me slice straight pieces. Well, last night my wish was granted.

My WONDERFUL sister-in-law, Miriam, saw my post and took the initiative. I was totally surprised to find a box at my door, and doubly surprised to see a bread slicer in it. I had just been searching for it that day, but to no avail. I had also just finished baking two loaves of bread. So, it was truly perfect timing.

I used it today and it was GREAT! I could cut even, thin slices without frustration. The other advantage it has is a crumb catcher, so the crumbs are not going all over my kitchen.
