I didn’t get a lot of science time in last school year.  So, I decided what better time to start than summer. I asked the kids what they wanted to learn about and Abby said the planets.   I got Apologia’s Exploring Creation with Astronomy .  Our first chapter was just basically what astronomy is.

Then they got to do a fun activity with Dad making the planets out of balloons.  He had a lot more patience for measuring around the balloons than I did.  We tried to make them an accurate size(besides the sun), but we didn’t measure distance.  They had a lot of fun and they pretty much know the planets in order from the Sun now, with the help of Blues Clues.  I am having fun learning right along with them.
