Journey to a Healthier Me: I’m a 10?

When I started this journey to living healthier, I was in a size 16 jeans and they were tight. My shirts that were XL were also getting too small for me. I didn’t want to admit that I may have needed to shop for the next size up.

Every unhealthy choice I had made had put me at that size. I was unhealthy and unhappy. Motivated by my kids, my faith, and my BMI score, I was ready to get to work.

I started exercising and making better food choices, which wasn’t always easy.

Now 6 months of hard work have passed. I have accomplished many of my goals.

This week I have accomplished two more big goals.

Thursday night I decided to check my BMI. After entering in my stats, I found out I had made it to the normal weight range! I was very pleasantly surprised.

Friday, after cleaning out the clothes that don’t fit anymore, I realized it was time to go shopping again. The one pair of shorts was not going to be enough for the whole summer. So, I went to my favorite store, Target. I found what I wanted and grabbed a couple sizes, not knowing if Ihad lost enough to go down to the next size. I tried on the smaller size and went out to show my husband. “I’m a 10!”

I haven’t been this size for at least 10 years, possibly 12. It feels great to have worked hard and see results.

This before picture was taken 3 years ago, but I actually weighed about 5 pounds less than I did at the beginning of this year.

Weight last week: 154.5 pounds

Weight this week: 151.5 pounds

Total weight loss this year: 32.5 pounds

I have now lost over 30 pounds! I really have a hard time believing this. It’s crazy. I am very thankful for God’s grace of helping me start and continue on this journey.

What goals have you accomplished this week as you work toward living healthier?
