Well it’s about that time again, time to get ready to start a new school year. Are you ready? I am not.
Yeah, this used to be the organized homeschool room. Now it’s a layer of old, new, and miscellaneous stuff that just doesn’t belong.
My table may be a mess, but I do have our homeschool curriculum picked for the year. Take a look at my eclectic list and I’ll try to get a little more organized in the meantime.
Everyone
It’s SO helpful when you’re teaching multiple students, at different ages and stages, to be able to do some learning together. That is one of the reasons I have chosen the following curriculums.
Tapestry of Grace Year 3 19th century history, literature, writing, reading, geography, and art.
Apologia’s Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology
BSF Our whole family will be attending Bible Study Fellowship and studying Genesis.
Fighter Verses We hope to memorize some of these this year along with our church family.
2nd Grade
My son, Joel, will be working his way through these books this year. He is a little young for second grade, so I will just take it at a pace that works for him.

3rd Grade
My daughter, Lydia, loves her Math and is excited to learn how to write cursive this year.

I can’t believe I have a 5th grader! Abigail will be improving her typing skills this year and hopefully typing more of her writing assignments.

I’ve heard Tapestry of Grace on several blogs, but really don’t know much about what it is, so I’d love to read a review of that one. We use the same as you do for Science and Handwriting.

Our kids have been using abeka in school for K3-2nd grade and I think they have an excellent phonics/language arts program.

It’s what I grew up on, so I feel fairly familiar with it as I teach it.

We have used the Apologia A&P in the past and this year we will be studying Botany.

I am a first year homeschooler, and I have a lovely schoolroom- decorated and organized and ready to go. I KNOW that it will look just like that picture before you know it! That’s what happens to rooms that get used and lived in by children and mamas!
You have a great line up for everyone. Abeka does have a great language/phonics program. I’m would love to see what you think of TOG. have a great year of learning!
