Meet the Mr.

You’ve met all our kids, now meet my husband, Jonathan.

Jonathan and I have been married almost 14 years, and known each other almost 15 years.

He’s a geek, seriously. He loves all things Apple, in fact I think he’s on a first name basis with half of the employees at the local Apple store, no joke. He helps me with the technical side of this blog and randomly posts on his own blog.He likes to play video games, but strategy board games are also fun for him. His favorite show to watch is Top Gear and current favorite movie is Tron.

Jonathan works for our church as the Technical Director for Media Ministries. What does that mean? He’s one of the main guys that runs video and sound for our multicampus church. Yep, it’s a big job, with odd, crazy hours.

Although he likes all the technical stuff, he’s not afraid to tackle little car issues or be our handyman in the home.

After 5 long, busy years, Jonathan graduated from college in 2011, Magna Cum Laude, with a Christian ministry degree. He loves his current job, but knows that God has a different call for his life. He’s a wannabe (associate) pastor.

He loves to be around people, a total extrovert. He likes to plan get-togethers spontaneously.

He’s a good dad because:

  • Abby-“He plays with us, and cuddles.”
  • Joel-“He plays Minecraft with me.”
  • Lydia-“Cause God gave him to us for a daddy.”
  • He’s a good teacher.
  • He likes to have fun.
  • He reads books to them.
  • He disciplines his kids.
  • He loves them.
  • He teaches them about God.

He’s a great husband because:

  • He continues to date me.
  • He loves me no matter what size I am.
  • He provides for our family.
  • He’s a good servant-leader.
  • He’s patient, when I’m not.
  • He is a great encourager.
  • He knows everything about me and still sticks around.
  • He likes my cooking.
  • He encourages me as I follow Christ.

Disclaimer: My husband is amazing, but he’s just average like me. He has bad days, moments, and behaviors just like the rest of us. I just think it’s important to brag on your husband once in a while.
