This was my first week joining the Living and Active challenge and it was a tough one. The goals were relatively easy, but life was hard. Right now my husband is working full-time, taking a couple of seminary courses, and trying to be a good dad and husband. I am teaching, momming, wifing, blogging, trying to get a business going, and trying take care of myself.
Last week I rarely saw my husband, because of our busy schedules, and it made life a little more difficult to handle. Add on some health issues, child behavior problems, a week starting with a messy house, and you’ve got a glimpse of what happened.
Memory Verse: I honestly didn’t hardly work on this, though it was on my mind a lot this week. I didn’t get it memorized but God revealed to me the Truth in it through different accountability groups and friendships, and that was beautiful.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Accountability: Like I said the last week , I have various groups I check in with daily and weekly online. It was awesome to see God use this verse and work through His church body caring for each other through prayer, encouraging words, and practical needs met.
Exercise: I did a 25 minute walk and some stretching exercise on Monday. Saturday I had my husband drop me off a ways from home so I could get some walking in and also did some lifting as we helped some friends move. Sunday I got another walk in. I didn’t make my four days, but three out of four ain’t bad.(Yes, I know ain’t, ain’t a word.)
Lately, I’ve been learning to cling to God’s sufficiency. This has been so freeing to me, but I haven’t been practicing it much with the daily everyday life stuff. This week looks to be even crazier and I plan on clinging to Him, especially for those little things.
2 Corinthians 3: 5 Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God,
