I was excited when Jonathan told me he wanted to go camping this Summer. I thought after our last trip, which consisted of many rainy nights and hail, he wouldn’t want to venture out in a tent again.
In my life this week… I got a new camera! (Thank you Jonathan!) It has a warranty if it happens to go in the pool again! I also got some swimming lessons scheduled for the kids to start in a couple weeks.

This morning we decided to head down to the “Ponderosa” restaurant for all you can eat $2 pancakes. It was great to have someone else cook and use real silverware and dishes. We were staying 2 nights here and therefore thankful that we didn’t have to pack anything up today.
This morning we woke up to another beautiful day. Today we were packing up and going to the next tourist trap… Wall Drug. Before we left, Jonathan fried us up some delicious eggs and bacon.
This morning we woke up pretty chilly, so we made some pancakes and hot chocolate-perfect for a cold morning. Then we packed up our stuff to head towards the Badlands. We only had to drive a couple hours and we were there. We decided to take a tour of the Minuteman Missile launch facility.

We have been talking all summer about possibly going on a camping trip to South Dakota and we actually did it. It was our first REAL vacation as a family. (We’d been on fake vacations where we visit family so this was different).
Tonight is our trial run for camping. We are camping in my parents backyard for a couple nights to practice for our real trip, which will happen in a month.
