Homeschool Mother’s Journal

In my life this week…

I am finally recovering from some kind of sinus cold. I am feeling much better than last week and can’t wait to be back to normal.

In our homeschool this week…

We just started our book “God’s Names” in the last couple of weeks. I am loving it, I don’t know much about the names of God and it is a great learning experience for  all of us. I love that I can call God by his other names and know what I’m talking about. I have the kids look up the references that go with the name we are learning about  and there is usually an activity that goes along with it too.

What I’m working on…

I’d really like to find an online math game to help Joel learn his addition and subtraction facts. Know of any good ones?

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

We’re excited to be able to have Grandma visit us this weekend. It’s been nice being able to see her more often since her job has been a little closer to us these last few months.

I am praying for…

We have some friends that are adopting internationally. It has been about 6 months since the mom has been home. We are praying that God would do a miracle and finalize this adoption process! It would be awesome if she could be home with her 2 new kids and the family can be together again by Thanksgiving.

My favorite thing this week was…

I bought a tornado tube a while back, because Joel had wanted one, but since we never have two liters we hadn’t been able to use it . Finally this week we had everything we needed and the kids have had so much fun watching the tornado tube.

I am so excited that we have finished our first quarter of school. We are taking next week off, so I can plan our second quarter. Hopefully I’ll have a little time to get our school room organized better too.

  1. I had to click over when I saw that pioneer woman’s hat. My daughter would love that as we just read Little House on the Prairie. That book about the names of God looks like a good study. Praise Him.

    1. We got the bonnets when we visited the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum in Walnut Grove. The girls enjoy wearing them. I think they would be pretty easy to make if you know how to sew.
